| | Moved to Dallas
Wednesday, Aug 29th, 2007
Just wanted everyone to hear it from me that I have moved to Dallas, TX.
I have accepted a position at Cowboy\'s Red River as the Lead Singer of the House Band. I will be performing (3 -4) nights a week, Thurs - Sunday. Start time is 9pm nightly.
I have truly enjoyed my time in Lake Charles, La. I have grown so much here as an artist and as a person. I truly believe that God wanted me here, but now God has called me elsewhere. I have met some wonderful people, made new fans, and founded friendships that should last a lifetime. If you are truly my friend or fan you will wish me the best no matter where I go, as I wish that for you.
Please keep up with me on my website or on myspace.
www.myspace.com/jasonashleymusic
And most importantly please Keep Me IN Your Prayers.
I Sincerely Hope GOD Blesses each and everyone of you.
Jason Ashley

| | | Rhinestone Roundup - A Denim & Diamonds Production
Saturday, May 5th, 2007
From "The Times" May 17th issue.....The Beauregard Parish Fair Exhibit Hall opened its doors for a "rootin', tootin' good time" fundraiser hosted by the BeauCARE Recreation and Education center. Rhinestone Roundup, an auction, dinner and dance provided an evening of cowboy styled fun and fellowship, as well as a means for the United Way agency to continue to carry out enriching programs and activities for area children. BeauCARE administrative assistant was on hand to introduce gues and the star entertainer for the evening, Jason Ashley. A very personable young man, the up-and-coming singer stopped to speak with guests, share a joke, answer questions and even have his picture snapped, before taking to the stage. Much toe-tapping ensured as Ashley and his band presented a repertoire of classic and new country music offerings. Boot scootin' action ruled the night, as these urban cowboys and cowgirls returned again and again to line-dance, two-step or waltz around the floor and then to the end of another fun-filled Saturday in DeRidder. |

| | | United Way Alternative Spring Break 2007
Sunday, Mar 25th, 2007
Here is the news excerpt from the Times Magazine April 5, 2007................"I am not now nor have I ever been a music critic or reviewer." With that said, I was invited to hear a local band. So on the evening of the 25th, we headed to Moss Bluff to check them out. They were playing for the United Way's Alternative spring Break at the Volunteer Housing Cener. There was a group of about 50 young people who had volunettered their Spring Break to help rebuild homes in Southwest Louisiana. We pulled into the parking lot and headed for the gym. I stepped over to the main building to say hello to Tom Morris, the CEO of United Way of Southwest Louisiana. Mr. Shadow stayed and chatted witht the band. I think it would also be helpful if I mentioned the band and gave them a little press. It was Jason Ashley and his band, which goes by the name Twangsters. In addition to Jason, the band includes Mike Lavergne, Ben Abshire, Jeff LeBlanc, Joey LeBlanc, and Stratton Doyle. Most of these guys are local Lake Charles musicians. Jason from Alexandria and Ben is from Geuydan. The music started around 8:00, and the people gathered. Line dancing seemed to be the style of choice. Although I think the fact that the group was 90% female, cut back on the couples. The style of the band is country; however, they mixed it up to keep everyone entertained. When I say mix, I mean mix. We heard some of Jason's music (including Handle With Care), Mustang Sally, Big Mamou, Lean on Me (reggae), the Commodores classic Easy, and Prince's Purple Rain. I had a blast and by the sweat worked up on the dance floor I would say I was not alone. Thanks to all of our Alternative Spring Breakers! You can check out Jason's CD on his website www.jasonashley.com" |

| | New Member of the Band
Monday, Jan 22nd, 2007
Stratton Doyle says it all...........I started playing alto saxophone in the 6th grade and by the end of that year moved up to tenor, playin mostly jazz. In high school I graduated into playing the more funky bluesy kind of stuff. When I was 17 I played in a bar setting for the first time with the Jay Ecker Trio. From there I went on to play with local bands such as Lingus (myspace.com/lingusfunk), City Heat, X-It 43, and others. In college, I spent alot of time hanging around the bar scene and sitting in with any band that would have me. That helped me to build up my diversity to be able to play just about anything that's thrown at me. Ok, you are thinking a country band with a SAX in it????? Sure, Come check us out...you'll see what we were thinking!!!! He'll "BLOW" your mind!!!! Welcome aboard Stratton!!!!

| | | Nashville
Saturday, Jan 14th, 2006
Well, I have been in Nashville for a four or five days, depends if you count the drive up here or not. This trip has been very productive as far as getting a lot of paper work done and registering my new publishing company that will fall under the flag of Jason Ashley Inc. The companies name is actually a stroke of genius from my guitar player Jeff, he came up with a name and it has become a band theme. I can’t reveal the name but you'll have to be patient. On to other things, I was able to attend a show with Doug Stone last night at a local club. He sounds just as great as ever, but the boy has lost his mind. Can’t elaborate on that, so don’t ask “unless in person,” but some funny stuff. His new label is Lofton Creek, so good for him, and hopefully I’ll be getting some attention from them as well, in this business you never know.
On a personal note, yesterday I got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled out… talk about some pain, but not as much as I had expected.
I am still in Nashville and expect to be back in Louisiana by early next week.
We have to prepare ourselves for a busy schedule ahead and get back to a regular practice routine. We have two shows at a local club this Thursday and Saturday, looking forward to that.
Last week I was in the Country Rumble on Waco 100 in Waco Texas. They are one of the largest stations in Texas. I defeated Deirks Bentley’s Around the Bend with my remake of Quittin’ Time. That just goes to show you, if we can get this music on the air it will speak for itself.
Also, I have decided to release my first regional single. It will be issued to every station in Texas and Louisiana. The single will be ICE COLD BEER.
I will keep you up to date with all of that… it won’t go out until the end of February, there is a lot of preparation that has to go into it.
As always keep me in your prayers, for safety with I’m on the road and for the ability to use wisdom in all that I do.
Jason Ashley

| | | MERRY CHRISTMAS
Tuesday, Dec 27th, 2005
Well, the holidays were anything but a vacation for me and I'm sure for a lot of you it was the same. But, it was incredible to spend time with my nieces and nephews and the rest of the family, which is getting larger every year. Being the youngest of seven kids sometimes gets confusing and hectic but I wouldn't have it any other way. Sometimes it is so easy to lose focus, since I can’t see my goal, but I must press on and just blindly trust God and his plan that he has set for me. Especially when I can’t see the goal, that’s why it’s called faith. I admit in my life I have ridden the fence more that once where my faith is concerned, but at this juncture in my life I am pressing on and trusting the Lord. That he has plans for me and those plans are to prosper and not harm me.
I have and opening in my show schedule that will allow me to escape for a week or so to Nashville. So, I intend to do so and while I am up there I am planning to record some demos of some new songs that I have been writing over the past few months. I have a few of you who are interested in getting their hands on these new songs for your own. All I can say is that if you have patience you may be one of the chosen few…. Just kidding… I have yet to decide if I will offer this as a add on to the purchase of my CD “Coming Up Clean” or as separate purchase… but the project will be BARE in its essence. Only guitar and vocal… that‘s all I want to be. Just raw emotion and passion, a real break from where most artists stand these days. I want it to be simple and real. Some of the songs that are scheduled to be recorded are “Let It Be Real”, “Lonely Side of Town”, “Feeling this Way”, “Down on My Knees”, and a few others… yet to be determined…
I will keep you posted… keep me in your prayers… and I just don’t say that … I really want you to keep me in your prayers and have the father hold me in the palm of his hand and protect me as I journey on the road … God Bless all of you

| | | WOW - GOT IN A WRECK ON THE WAY TO CHURCH
Tuesday, Dec 13th, 2005
What can I say... I was driving on my way to church 6:30 in the morning and bam... What an eye opener... I haven’t' been keeping up my Journal like I needed to. I have been so busy booking and trying to run a business that I let life get away from me. This is crazy. I'm still in shock a little. I know I must have sat there for at least 30 minutes after the wreck just shaking'... Both vehicles were drivable and no one was hurt. (But my shoulder & elbow are feeling it) but it made me stop and reflect upon life. I am constantly running trying to do this or that and I do it well. Whatever “it” happens to be for that day, that’s what I do. I have been letting life lead me… instead of the other way around. I am guilty of not letting God set my bearing for the day at hand. I make my own plans and then I try to bend God’s will to it. That can’t be. To everyone I am sorry for not keeping up my journal; I will do better with that. To my Lord and savior Jesus Christ, thank you for protecting me and holding me in the palm of your hand. I love you. Your son, Jason |

| | | Sams Town Casino
Tuesday, Sep 6th, 2005
It is because of people like the wonderful staff at Sam's Town Casino - Leigh, Leslie, & David, in Shreveport Louisiana that I keep doing what I am doing.
It is so hard to pinpoint exactly what IT is ... in everything with talent to that certain something... you never know exactly what IT is ... but whatever the allusive quality is... Sam's Town Casino has it in Spades....
From the first moment I met the staff they made me feel at home... This is the beginning of a wonderful new "friendly" business relationship.
Thanks so much to my friend Greg for making this happen...

Monday, Aug 29th, 2005
Hello,
I would like to welcome everyone. My name is Joey and I am the drummer with Jason and Divided Highway. I have been with Jason for about 2 months and it has been a blast. I think everyone will agree when I say he is a great singer, performer and all around good person. I look forward to many successful years with Jason and the band.
With the fans support, I believe Jason has a great product and there is no limit to how far he can go. We need help selling CD\'s & requesting songs at your local radio station. If you have a CD and you like what you hear, please tell someone because you, the fan are the fuel that keeps the engine running. I know that sounds like a cliché but it is very true.
Thank all of you who have purchased the CD and those of you, who have supported Jason in other ways, I know he appreciates you all.

| | CD LOOKS GREAT & James Burton Music Festival was a BLAST
Wednesday, Aug 24th, 2005
Hey guys well it has been a busy week for me... I played last Tuesday - Sunday with two gigs on Saturday.. but the most notable of all was the after party for the James Burton Music Festival. It was real cool to get to play to a room full of musicians... then I got to hang out with James Burton for about an hour after everyone else left.. that was really cool. Let\'s see, I was interviewed by this lady from the press out of Las Vegas after she watched our Friday Night Show under the Bridge in Shreveport.. Need I Say.. WE ROCKED>.. it was very hot... but we did an awesome job... well it\'s three in the morning... and so I will crash... but keep me and the band in your prayers... we need it... and tell all of your friends to buy the CD.. if you like the music... that is the only way we will make another one... lots of love Jason |
